Rights

Nini Czopp retains a specialist with expertise in financial and other rights to which Holocaust survivors are entitled. This applies both to benefits from the Israeli government and from various local institutions as well as income from foreign governments.

Under the guidance and supervision of the specialist, Nini Czopp’s social workers assist our clients to receive every help they can get.

Being granted these rights can entail a one-time payment or a life-long monthly remittance. It can provide for specific medical assistance, such as free medications or anything else related to the health and well-being of the Holocaust survivor.

The Nini Czopp Association has successfully mediated in many cases, resulting in several substantial financial grants.

Whether a survivor is entitled to rights and to which rights is determined on an individual basis and depends on the survivor’s history, country of origin and additional parameters.

Medical Planning

As a result of increased life expectancy over the last three decades, legal processes have been established to allow older people to prepare for the time when they might suffer from cognitive decline.

By completing and signing various documents (medical power of attorney, durable power of attorney and advanced medical directives, among others) aging individuals can determine, ahead of time, who will make or help make decisions for them in medical matters when their mental condition begins to deteriorate.

Assistance in completing the various forms requires great accuracy, professionalism, and sensitivity to ensure that each individual’s wishes are correctly understood. This is done by our social workers who have undergone special training to deal with these matters.

Sharing Our Knowledge

More than 20 years of experience in caring for Holocaust survivors has garnered us extensive experience in various fields. This has been acknowledged by the different welfare institutions and organizations that deal with the well-being of and benefits for the survivors. As a result, we receive continuous requests to share our knowledge, which we consider an important task. The reputation of our professional staff results in the demand by municipal welfare departments and immigrant organizations for lectures, workshops and seminars; these we organize and manage throughout Israel, for professionals such as physicians, social workers, lawyers and nurses.

To further specialize in the treatment of Holocaust survivors, the Nini Czopp Association participated in a study on loneliness among Holocaust survivors during the COVID-19 restrictions, conducted in collaboration with Bar-Ilan University. In 2024, we partnered with Bar-Ilan University and the University of South Carolina in the USA for research concerning the response of Holocaust survivors to the Swords of Iron War.
